The Stimmie Awards
Presented by Fly Fusion Magazine and the International Fly Fishing Film Festival, the Stimmies recognize top emerging fly- fishing filmmakers. Calling all filmmakers, amateur and professionals alike, to submit entries to the 2022 Stimmie Awards. Top films will participate in a month long public vote, supported by a massive social and web campaign reaching thousands of voting anglers on screens around the world. The winning film will take home bragging rights, a $1,000.00 cash prize and will be considered for inclusion as an Official Selection of the 2023 International Fly Fishing Film Festival. The top saltwater film will be considered for inclusion in the Film and Art night at the 2022 Bonefish & Tarpon Trust Symposium in November.
How it works:
Award entries accepted April 1 – May 31, 2022.
Films will be judged by a panel fly fishing content producers. Finalists in each category will be published online on June 10, 2022.
Top winners will be selected by public vote.
Winners will be notified following voting close on July 15, 2022.
Films can be submitted in two categories: Freshwater & Saltwater
Films should be between 60 seconds and 10 minutes in length
Proper fish-handling should be showcased in all films
The competition is open to all filmmakers, emerging and professional involved in producing any kind of film dedicated to the sport of fly fishing, including adventure, travel, humour, conservation, profiles and the like. Please note purely “how-to” fly-fishing films are not appropriate for the film fest environment.

The winning filmmaker will receive a $1,000 cash prize, swag from sponsors and consideration for a coveted Official Selection status in the 2023 International Fly Fishing Film Festival!
In addition, the top saltwater film will be considered for inclusion at the 2022 Bonefish & Tarpon Trust International Science Symposium and Flats Expo.
The Small Print:
All submissions must be made by their respectful, legal owner(s) / agents who have the right to submit all content within the submission, including royalty-free rights to all footage, graphics and music tracks within the submission. There are no exceptions to these conditions.
Submissions may be made by individuals and production companies, as long as such information is properly indicated within the submission form.
Submissions may contain built-in sponsor logos & branding only within the ending credits, which must be no longer than 20 seconds long.
Submissions must not contain any illegal / irresponsible or unethical behavior, activities or practices.
Submissions must not contain any footage, photographs or other visual reference to non-conservation minded or offensive activities or efforts. This is a conservation and family friendly minded film festival.
Should your film be assigned Official Selection status a festival producer will contact you by email and provide a copy of the International Fly Fishing Film Festival license & usage agreement.
To be eligible, an entry must have been produced after January 1, 2020.
