Confronted by back-country closures and wildfires the hosts embrace the challenges and as a result find themselves in unexpected places. The series captures the experiences that make a fly-fishing trip more than just catching fish. Fly fishing connects the individual to others, to generations, to fish, and to environments. This season we find them lost in the right direction.

Season 2

Season overview: This season, Fly Fusion Magazine’s Founding Editor, Derek Bird, along with Field Editor, Jim McLennan, find themselves deep in the back country of British Columbia’s Cariboo region. With fly rods in hand and grizzlies not far away, they explore stunning and remote locations for oversized rainbows, bull trout as well as some unexpected finds, but the fish are not all they’re after. The series dives into the soul of fly fishing and all that makes a fishing trip more than just catching fish.

Season 1

Season overview: In this inaugural season Fly Fusion Magazine takes its visually inviting and highly captivating print platform and successfully transitions the same vision to television. Founding Editor and host, Derek Bird, along with Field Editor, Jim McLennan, team up with magazine field staff to provide engaging and informative dialogue. Fishing in British Columbia’s Kootenay region, they find themselves in the heart of the Rocky Mountains fly fishing in some of the most stunning locations. The hosts fly fish for oversized bull trout and large Westslope cutthroat, but the fish are not all they’re after. The series dives into the soul of fly fishing and all that makes a fishing trip more than just catching fish.
